He added: In terms of the I.T. digital economy, we could also do, for example, foster the facilitation of the development of the data industry on the Mainland, by offering the help of our financial services sector. And I think the financial services sector in Hong Kong should take a good look at that prospective clientele. We could offer all kinds of financial services to them, so that they could use the capital that we raise in the Hong Kong financial market, for the further and better development.
CY mentioned: Hong Kong people somehow have this mental block, a reluctance to travel outside Hong Kong. I think they need to overcome their own personal and mental obstacle. They have to realise that the world outside Hong Kong does exist. And there’s a big world called the Mainland of China. And as far as the local people are concerned, we need to improve our language skills, not just English, but also Putonghua, not just spoken Putonghua, but also written language skills to make sure that we are an effective super-connector between the rest of the world and the rest of China.
