US lawmakers want to put 49 Hong Kong officials on sanction list, HK lawmaker Adrian Ho said: This is completely groundless!

“ Recently, Members of the United States Congress, including Senators and Representatives from both the Senate and the House of Representatives, proposed the "Hong Kong Sanctions Act." This Act calls for the inclusion of important officials in the HKSAR Government, as well as multiple judges and prosecutors on a "sanctions" list. They also criticised the independence of Hong Kong judicial system.  The proponents claimed that, the United States could support the freedom-loving people of Hong Kong and hold accountable officials who violate human rights through strong and decisive action. I believe that this is completely groundless. ‘’ Member of HK Legislative Council Adrian Ho said. 

“ The HK Government has always been committed to safeguarding national security and these matters fall within the scope of its jurisdiction. American politicians should not turn a blind eye to the actual situation in Hong Kong. I firmly believe that Hong Kong will resolutely uphold China national sovereignty, security and development interests, fully and accurately implement the principle of "One Country, Two Systems" and maintain Hong Kong's judicial system, which has long been highly regarded by the international community. “Adrian Ho said.
